In the most pivotal game of the year for the NFC East, the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles are both in must-win mode. The Eagles can win the NFC East by winning out, but the Redskins can also win the East by winning out. I expect this game to have a playoff atmosphere and a rowdy home crowd.
For me, this game is a bit personal. My stepfather passed away suddenly three weeks ago and he was as diehard of a Redskins fan as one could be. Living on the west coast, he was also the only Redskins fan I've ever known. The team is undefeated since he passed away three Saturday's ago, so I'm going to be rooting hard for my old man's team to keep the winning streak going.
Offensively, the Redskins are on fire with Kirk Cousins under center having won four of their last six games and really have been the only team in the NFC East to actually play like they want to win the NFC East. It's going to be tough, though, as the Eagles are going to bring everything they've got to keep the division title in doubt for one final week.
The big question is, which Eagles team will show up? The one that beat the New England Patriots on the road or the one that was completely embarrassed at home a week ago by the Arizona Cardinals?
I hate teams like that when it comes to picking straight up winners, so I tend to go with the team that has shown more reliable consistency over the course of many weeks over the team that has little to no identity.
Prediction: Redskins 27, Eagles 24
