There are just three afternoon games this week, excluding the Sunday Night Football game. There are some playoff seeding implications, but it is still going to be a giant snooze fest for those of us who prefer AFC football over NFC football.
Broncos issue statement on Peyton Manning
"Peyton does things the right way," the Denver Broncos said in a statement Sunday.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ New Orleans Saints
With Drew Brees playing today, he may have extra motivation to prove something after all of the speculation this week that he might be done for the year with a torn plantar fascia. The Jaguars are an explosive team on offense, but I would like to see the Saints pull this one out.
Green Bay Packers @ Arizona Cardinals
In the premier matchup this afternoon, the Packers look to secure the NFC North by beating the red hot Cardinals on the road. The Cardinals lost Tyrann Mathieu, but the Packers wide receiver corps is even more depleted. Aaron Rodgers would need to play out of his mind to put up enough points to win this game.
St. Louis Rams @ Seattle Seahawks
Few teams are as red hot as the Seahawks have been over the last month. They are beating everyone and Russell Wilson is throwing a ton of touchdowns - mostly to Doug Baldwin. The Rams have an excellent pass defense, but until a team shows they can stop Wilson while he is playing out of his mind, I can't pick against them. Especially at home.
New York Giants @ Minnesota Vikings
The Washington Redskins ended what little hope the Giants had to make the playoffs this year, so it will be hard to know for sure how well they will play tonight. The Vikings, meanwhile, are fighting for playoff position and should be ready to play hard at home.
Who are you rooting for in these late games?
