Two fairly troubling developments for the Denver Broncos on today's participation report. First was Demaryius Thomas being downgraded from a full participant on Wednesday to limited on Thursday due to a hamstring issue. The Broncos will definitely need their star wide receiver to help wrap up the AFC West for a fifth consecutive year.
Second, was the downgrading of Owen Daniels from limited to being held out of practice entirely as he deals with issues in both knees and a bum shoulder. He has been Brock Osweiler's most trusted checkdown down the stretch, so he will definitely be needed as well.
The good news for the Broncos is that they get future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning back as a full participant in practice for the first time in almost two months. He'll be the backup, but with Osweiler dealing with a multitude of minor injuries, I feel a lot better knowing they have Manning ready to come in. I have a bit more confidence with that than an unproven Trevor Seimian in the playoffs.
For the San Diego Chargers, they are really banged up with five players not participating for a second straight day, including starters like Orlando Franklin, Manti Te'o and Jason Verrett. They also sent Eric Weddle to injured reserve, despite reports that he isn't really all that hurt. There does appear to be some malcontent in the locker room.
Here is your Week 17 participation report.
