We've partnered with The Afternoon Drive to bring you Broncos podcasts each and every weekday. On Thursday, former longtime Broncos safety Nick Ferguson joined Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro to talk about the upcoming Chargers game as well as his take on Peyton Manning.
"No, it's not a worry about a letdown," Ferguson said. "I don't think the coaching staff is going to allow for that to happen and take place. I mean, you've got to think about this: at this juncture of the season, there's not a healthy team out there. There's not a healthy player. So everyone's playing with bumps and bruises. So you just hope that your team is geared up, they've prepared well enough to go on the road and win the ball game.
"So that's what I'm expecting from this Broncos team. And I think when you look at how this team was prepared and put together this offseason, they were thinking about this and had this in mind. You're going to get beat up, especially in the division that they play in. So you have to make sure you have guys on your roster that can step up and hold those positions until those stars can actulally come back. I expect them to do that again when they make that trip to San Diego."
The Broncos will be looking to extend their NFL-record 14 consecutive divisional road victories in Week 13. All of those victories were with Peyton Manning at the helm; this time, it will be Brock Osweiler quarterbacking the Broncos.
Up-and-comer Shane Ray talks to the guys after practice Thursday.
