The Denver Broncos (9-2) are favored in this game for the first time with Brock Osweiler as the starting quarterback. It helps that the San Diego Chargers (3-8) are really struggling to find wins in 2015. The rebirth of the Broncos running game is a big reason why this team is getting hot in December.
Offensively, the Broncos are facing the leagues worst defense. They are porous against both the pass and the run, but I expect Gary Kubiak to stick to form and run the ball. We're talking 40+ times if the Chargers defense holds to form. That doesn't mean Osweiler won't get some yards passing, but this could be the game where both Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson each get into the triple digits on the ground.
Defensively, all the Broncos have to do is maintain discipline against the run while pinning their ears back to get after Philip Rivers. If the pass rush shows up in this game, it's going to be a blowout win for the Broncos. The Chargers are just too depleted at wide receiver for Rivers to be able to get the ball out quickly. He will need time to allow the lesser talent get open and if he doesn't get that time it will be a long day for him.
I'm predicting the pass rush shows up.
Prediction: Broncos 34, Chargers 13
