New, comments

The weeks first participation report is out and the Denver Broncos have a long list of injuries to report. The Oakland Raiders have just as many guys not participating as well.

The Denver Broncos are literally the walking wounded right now. There seem to be a slew of ankle injuries out there, but then I noticed the Oakland Raiders have the same problem. It must just be that time of the year when guys are just banged up every single week no matter what. That first round bye is crucial for a solid playoff run.

Gary Kubiak on the participate in today's practice gave the lowdown on injuries saying, "Guys that did not practice for us today were [QB] Peyton [Manning], [S] T.J. [Ward], [ILB] Danny Trevathan, [S] David Bruton [Jr.], [TE] Vernon Davis, [RB] C.J. Anderson, [RB] Ronnie Hillman, [S] Omar Bolden. Guys that were limited for us today were [WR Andre] Bubba Caldwell, [NT Sylvester] Sly [Williams], [WR] Bennie Fowler, [G] Evan Mathis, [DE] Vance Walker, [S] Darian Stewart, [TE] Owen Daniels, [T] Michael Schofield, [OLB] DeMarcus Ware and the rest of the guys were full. A few guys on the list today."

If you are wondering if all of these injuries are impacting practices, you can rest easy as Kubiak responded to that question saying, "No, that’s what they would have done either way. We did a lot of reps and teaching today and worked through that, tried to get some guys involved that maybe couldn’t have been involved today. It’s a pretty clear picture where we’re at right now. We’ll be day-to-day this week trying to get some guys to game day."

The Raiders have fewer guys on the report, but just as many Did Not Participate (DNP) guys as the Broncos did today. With health such a concern, we'll want to see if some of these DNP players turn into LIMITED and finish the week as "Probable" on Game Day.

Oh and by the way, Peyton Manning has thrown his first pass since taking the walking boot off. The old man could be ready to force a decision from John Elway and Kubiak by next Wednesday.
