Jacob Tamme chooses Falcons over Broncos in free agency

Another tight end departs the Broncos in free agency.

After mulling an offer from the Broncos that appeared to come as Jacob Tamme was visiting with the Atlanta Falcons, the tight end has decided to take his talents to Georgia. Tamme announced his decision on Twitter Thursday.

Tamme has spent the last three seasons with Peyton Manning in Denver and has totaled 86 receptions for 848 yards with five touchdowns. In 2014 he caught 14 passes for 109 yards with two touchdowns. One of his touchdowns was this.

For that, I'll miss him.

But Tamme was never able to make plays like this a regular occurrence. Tamme provided some slot receiver versatility but was a bit of a "jack of all trades, master of none" at the tight end position. He'll get a new shot to fine-tune his craft with a new team now. Best of luck in Atlanta, Tamme.
