Horse Tracks: Ranking the NFL coaches

CBS Sports NFL columnist Pete Prisco decided to rank all 32 NFL coaches from first to last. Where did Prisco rank Denver Broncos new head coach Gary Kubiak?

Let's take a look at Prisco's top five.

1. Bill Belichick - New England Patriots

2. Pete Carroll - Seattle Seahawks

3. Mike McCarthy - Green Bay Packers

4. Tom Coughlin - New York Giants

5. John Harbaugh - Baltimore Ravens

Thoughts:

The top two are easy choices. We all hate Belichick, but he's going down as one of, if not the best head coach of all time. Pete Carroll has led the Seattle Seahawks to back to back Super appearances.

Mike McCarthy has made the Green Bay Packers one of the more consistently good teams in the NFL over the last 5+ years. John Harbaugh has done the same with the Baltimore Ravens

I disagree with Coughlin being in the top five. His resume is good and all, but he's coming off two awful seasons with the Giants.

Let's take a look at the next 10 coaches on Prisco's list.

6. Mike Tomlin - Pittsburgh Steelers

7. Sean Payton - New Orleans Saints

8. Bruce Arians - Arizona Cardinals

9. Andy Reid - Kansas City Chiefs

10. Chuck Pagano - Indianapolis Colts

11. Bill O'Brien - Houston Texans

12. Chip Kelly - Philidelphia Eagles

13. John Fox - Chicago Bears

14. Ron Riveria - Carolina Panthers

15. Jeff Fisher - St. Louis Rams

Thoughts:

Still no Kubiak.

Prisco believes Andy Reid, Ron Riveria and.....John Fox? are better Head Coaching options than Kubiak?

Bill O'Brien at 11 is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. He did a good job with the Texans, but top 11 coach after one season?

16. Marvin Lewis - Cincinnati Bengals

17. Rex Ryan - Buffalo Bills

18. Jason Garrett - Dallas Cowboys

19. Mike Zimmer - Minnesota Vikings

20. Ken Whisenhunt - Tennessee Titans

21. Mike McCoy- San Diego Chargers

22. Gary Kubiak - Denver Broncos

23. Jim Caldwell - Detroit Lions

24. Lovie Smith - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Thoughts:

22nd? Really?

By no means do I believe Kubiak is a top notch NFL Head Coach(yet), but I don't think he's on the bottom tier either. Listing Whisenhunt, Zimmer, and Fox ahead of Kubiak is just wrong.

At least Prisco thinks Kubiak is better than Del Rio.

Time to prove the doubters wrong Kubiak!
