According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, quarterback prospect Trevor Siemian is expected to visit with the Denver Broncos on Thursday.
Want a sleeper? Northwestern QB Trevor Siemian, who tore his ACL in Nov and missed all-star games & the Combine. Visiting #Broncos Thursday.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 31, 2015
Northwestern quarterback prospect Trevor Siemian is currently rehabbing a torn ACL that he suffered in November against Purdue. He's expected to meet with the Broncos on April 2nd, and is scheduled to have dinner with Denver Broncos quarterback coach Greg Knapp on April 8th. He is also meeting with the Chicago Bears on April 7th.
Siemian is scheduled to have his Pro Day April 9th.
Siemian is a bit of an unknown. I have never heard of him until just a few hours ago, and there isn't much out there about him. He only started 14 games at Northwestern and is coming off a torn ACL that he suffered back in November.
What I do know is that he played in a spread offense at Northwestern and totaled 5,931 yards during his time there which ranks fourth is school history. He played in a spread offense at Northwestern, so there are questions about whether or not he can play under center.
Siemian's overall ability to read a defense that include pre-snap, and locating secondary receivers will be a key to his NFL success at getting an opportunity in the NFL.
I would expect him to be another late round/undrafted option for the Broncos in next months NFL Draft.
