The tender is worth $1.542 million according to Klis. The money is non-guaranteed and gives the Broncos a right of first refusal should other teams try to sign Carter. It also gives the Broncos an opportunity to match an offer a team gives to Carter.
There was apparent interest in Carter's services before the Broncos decided to place the tender on him. NFL Networks Ian Rapoport tweeted out there was "strong interest" in Carter around the NFL. This may have prompted the Broncos to place the tender on Carter, and now look to trade him to one of the interested teams. I
In six NFL seasons, Carter has totaled 49 total tackles, 20 pass deflections, 3 interceptions, and 1 touchdown. This past season he played in 8 games for the Broncos, and totaled 5 tackles and 1 pass deflection.
