Happy Sunday, Broncos Country! Before we get to what few items there are for news, let's talk about the past. The Denver Broncos have had many great seasons over the last 50 years, but which season was the greatest? The 1997 and 1998 seasons would obviously rank near the top. How about the greatest seasons that didn't involve the Broncos playing in the Super Bowl?
That means 1977, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1997, 1998 and 2013 are excluded from this exercise.
For me it comes down to the 1991 season that had John Elway and the Broncos going 12-4 only to nearly have their season ended in the AFC Division Round with less than two minutes to play and on their own 2 yard line. The Drive II would save the day and pretty much immortalize Elway in my young mind.
The other would be Tim Tebow's magical 2011 campaign. Never have I seen such incredible jaw-dropping comebacks than during the six game winning streak the Broncos enjoyed under his leadership. Then that 80 yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas in overtime against the Pittsburgh Steelers sent me a mile high.
There were other great seasons, like 2005 for example. however, that would be a distant third to the two above. If I were to cast my vote, my vote would go to Elway. Where would your vote got?
