There would be no trading for the Denver Broncos this round after trading up in the first round for Shane Ray.
When many fans thought that the Broncos would go hometown via quarterback Garrett Grayson, Denver crossed-over and drafted offensive tackle Ty Sambrailo. He is a versatile offensive lineman who can play guard, tackle and possibly even center. He has the athleticism needed to fit into Gary Kubiak's offense. The Broncos met with Sambrailo multiple times this offseason.
Sambrailo a 2014 All-Mountain West left tackle projects via NFL.com as comparable to Tyson Clabo, while MHR's Christopher Hart had:
Sambrailo is slated by most to be a right tackle, however several outlets reported yesterday that teams, even the Broncos, have worked him out at center. He is local prospect and one Denver has done their diligence on. There is a very strong chance he is the teams second round pick if available when they are on the clock.
While executive vice president John Elway added:
OT Ty Sambrailo, our 2nd rd pick from CSU, really fits our system. We expect him to come in and compete for a starting job at right tackle.
