The Denver Broncos selected former Florida Gator offensive lineman in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He was ranked as the 227th overall prospect in the 2015 NFL Draft according to CBS Sports, and ranked as the 7th best center in the draft.
Max Garcia, a center/guard from Florida, is our 4th rd pick. A smart, versatile player. Had a great visit with him and glad he's a Bronco!

Garcia was selected to second-team All-SEC in 2014. He also switched positions from left guard to center during spring practices. Max started all 12 games at center for the Florida Gators in 2014.

Scouting Report:
Strengths:
- Versatile
- Played three different positions
- Good upper body strength
- He's what you call a "phone booth mauler"
- Has a strong punch
- Strong hands
- Is a "fighter" inside
- Good body control
- Good run blocker
- Team leader at Florida
- Well liked by his teammates
- A tough player
Weaknesses:
- Not the most athletic center
- "Heavy legged"
- Has overall physical limitations
- Doesn't get to the second level consistently
Quotes:
He's not the type of athlete Gary Kubiak usually covets in his offensive line but he's versatile having played center, guard, and tackle at Florida. The Broncos do want to run more however, and that is where Garcia's strengths as a blocker. --Mark Dulgerian
My thoughts:
Interesting pick.
He's not your typical zone-blocking player. He's a tough player with limited range. He's a good run blocker who has toughness at the point of attack.
He'll compete with Gino Gradkowski and Matt Paradis for the starting center job. He does offer depth at all three interior positions.
I like the pick, I'm just interested to see how they use him. He fits a power scheme better than a zone scheme, but Kubiak and Dennison know plenty about offensive line play than I do. So I trust they know what they're doing here.
