The Denver Broncos selected former Tulane cornerback Lorenzo Doss in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Doss was ranked as the 176th player in the 2015 NFL Draft according to CBS Sports, and ranked as the 23rd best cornerback in the 2015 draft.
Big fan of the #Broncos Lorenzo Doss selection from #Tulane. Played WR in HS, 2x All-American. Good corner w/elite ball skills

Doss played three seasons at Tulane and put up some good numbers. During his three-year career, he totaled 126 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 14 interceptions(for 281 yards), 2 defensive touchdowns and 26 pass deflections. His best season came in 2013 when he totaled 34 tackles, 7 interceptions(for 185 yards) and two defensive touchdowns. His stats dropped in 2014 because teams avoided him.

Scouting Report
Strengths:
- A smooth athlete
- Changes direction easily
- Great ball skills for a cornerback
- Has broad shoulders and a athletic build
- Has a nose for the ball
- Baits quarterbacks into bad throws
- Great instincts
- Aggressive play
- Played press, off man and zone in college
- Helps out in the run game
- Makes plays after interceptions
- Is considered a "workaholic" and loved by his teammates
- can play inside or outside
Weaknesses:
- Took too many chances in 2014
- Jumps routes and needs to show patience
- His aggressiveness can lead to sloppy technique
- Sometimes takes bad angles
- A little stiff in the hips
- Double moves can get him
- Doesn't have ideal size
- Can have issues with bigger receivers
My thoughts:
He is a very interesting prospect. Good production in college and I like his ball-hawking abilities. Has good ball skills, sticky hands and is aggressive. I like those qualities from a cornerback.
His size will probably limit him to being a nickel corner. Doesn't have the size or strength to consistently play outside
His over aggressiveness is his biggest weakness. Will jump routes looking for the big play and can be beat by that. If coached up well I think he can be a good nickel cornerback.
This gives the Broncos a very deep group of cornerbacks. Chris Harris Jr., Aqib Talib, Bradley Roby, Kayvon Webster, Omar Bolden, Tony Carter and now Doss.
Solid pick right here.
