The Broncos are the 26th most-valuable sports team in the world, according to Forbes.com.

Denver is just as valuable this year as they were last year, according to Forbes, with a total value of $1.45 billion. That's lower than the average of the top 50 most valuable teams, $1.75 billion.

A total of 20 NFL teams made the top 50 list. The Broncos ranked 11th among NFL teams.

The Cowboys, worth  $3.2 billion, are the most valuable NFL team and second-most valuable team overall. Soccer club Real Madrid ranked as the most valuable sports team for a third consecutive year, worth $3.26 billion.

The team's ownership is in a trust fund at the moment after Pat Bowlen stepped down as owner a year ago, citing his battle with Alzheimer's disease. Joe Ellis is the acting president and John Elway is in charge of football operations.

Denver's value is up 25% from last year, according to Forbes.
