This roster move bumps the Broncos roster back up to 90 players.
The Buccaneers waived Lanning after trying out four punters and signing former Denver Broncos kicker/punter Carl Schmitz earlier this week.
The Buccaneers had claimed Lanning off waivers June 9 from the Cleveland Browns, who had waived him after they had acquired Andy Lee from the San Francisco 49ers.

Lanning had spent the last two seasons with the Cleveland Browns. During those two seasons, Lanning averaged 44.1 yards on 177 punts, with a net average of 38.6. Lanning also has 14 career kickoff attempts, but only one touchback in two years. So I do not view him as a possible kickoff specialist.
Look for Lanning to compete with current starting punter Britton Colquitt. The Broncos did recently cut Colquitt's salary a bit, so I don't think his roster spot is in much danger now.
