According to Denver Broncos Head Coach Gary Kubiak, running backs Montee Ball and Kapri Bibbs are expected to get the majority of the carries Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals.
Coach Kubiak says Montee Ball and Kapri Bibbs will get most of the carries Thursday night.

This means that running backs C.J. Anderson, Ronnie Hillman, and Juwan Thompson all appear locked into a roster spot.
It also means that running backs Montee Ball and Kapri Bibbs appear to be fighting for one roster spot. So how they perform during Thursday night's game will decide their fate. Kubiak also mentioned that both players will play on special teams. This is important because if you're the fourth back on the depth chart, you will need to play special teams. Making a big hit(Terrell Davis reference) can also help your chances on making the team.
Must Reads
It's been a rough summer for running back Montee Ball. He started the season as the number two running back on the roster behind starter C.J. Anderson, but quickly fell behind Ronnie Hillman, and then Juwan Thompson. Now he's fighting for a roster spot during the final week of the preseason.
"Montee and Kapri are going to get the bulk of the work in the game." Said Kubiak "They both deserve plenty of touches and they should get them coming out of this game, and they will both play special teams a great deal, too. We talked about the Montee deal. He needs a bunch of carries and he'll get them on Thursday."
Kapri Bibbs has been used sparingly this preseason but has looked good during practices. Mile High Report's own Ian Henson has been raving about Bibbs all summer. This is a great opportunity for Bibbs to crack the Broncos 53 man roster.
It's not a lock that either back will make the final roster, and will be auditioning for all 32 teams on Thursday night. This is why I love the final preseason game. Players fighting for their roster spot, and potentially their careers during one game. It might be meaningless to us, but it means everything for them.
