Broncos Chiefs final score: Instant reactions to Denver's 31-24 win

I missed great NFL games this off season. I love watching a good, close game where it is a prize fight down to the last minute. This game was a pure joy to watch.

We on staff kick it in a chat room often when we are on a computer and watching the games. Let me share with you a little snippet of what went down right before the game-winning turnover:

WHAT THE #$%@ DID I SAY!

To our worthy adversaries:

What a game. But your team will never be able to grit out a big win Captain Checkdown at the helm. He's not a game winner. He's not a guy who can will your team down the field when they need a score.

Guess who is though? I give you one Peyton Manning.

You can't win, chef fans. Strike him down for having a noodle arm and being washed up and he will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine!

And now he is. This TEAM now has all the pieces. They have a dominating defense. They have a solid special teams. They BELIEVE in each other. No longer do we rely on Manning's arm. We may lose a game, but you'll have to fight us to the end as we go kicking and screaming.

THIS IS WHY JOHN FOX IS NO LONGER HERE.

I love the adjustments.

I love the team trying to run even when their line is getting dominated.

I love our defense never stopping and having absolutely NO memory whatsoever of when bad things happen to them.

Themes I saw in this game:

  • Manning is still overthrowing his long passes consistently. It has to do with his footwork and body positioning.
  • When we huddle and slow things down, defenses are constantly causing us problems
  • When we can hold teams to 3rd and long, our defense is straight up destructive
  • Our ST coverage unit looks much better than last year.

Closing Thoughts

Listen, and understand! That Denver Bronco team is out there! It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are defeated.

GO BRONCOS!!!
