I'm back from my death trap hiatus. So I can now resume these weekly picks that I'm so obviously better than the main stream media at.
Thursday Night Game Prediction Record: 2-0
Washington Redskins (1-1) at New York Giants (0-2) TNF
I'm not gonna lie, this game is going to be painful to watch. Both teams have struggled mightily, but that was kind of expected going into this season. Who schedules these games anyways?
The Redskins will still be without RGIII and the Giants will still rely way too heavily on Odell Beckham Jr. to catch everything in sight. The problem with that is that the Redskins actually have a good defense, and they'll key in on that nonsense to shut it down. Where is Eli going to throw? Does he realize that there are more receiving threats on his team than just Odell?
From where I'm looking, the Redskins really do have a better team than the Giants. I suppose the fact that they are 1-1 and the Giants are 0-2 should be proof enough, but I'm afraid it just isn't. You see, Eli has 2 Super Bowl rings on his fingers to the Redskins starting Kirk Cousins (aka RGIII's backup and the reason Shanahan is no longer their coach).
Alfred Morris and Matt Jones are impressing me in the backfield for the skins while nobody on the Giants team is standing out; Not even Odell because of constant help to cover him.
About the only thing I can see going for the Giants is that this will be played at home. If this was in Washington, I'd give the Redskins a double digit victory, but this is in the Giants' wheelhouse, so that has to count for something, right? Even more than just the 3 points that Vegas claims home field is worth.
I see this game being pretty boring and equally close. It very well might come down the whoever has the ball at the 2 minute warning.
Prediction: Redskins 23, Giants 20
