The Denver Broncos play their second consecutive road game on prime time as they take on the Detroit Lions under the lights of Sunday Night Football. The Broncos are coming off an incredible upset on Thursday Night Football in Week 2 with two touchdowns in a 9 second span in the final minute against the Kansas City Chiefs. They will want to avoid getting themselves in that kind of hole in this one.

The Broncos will need to find ways to run the football or their offense is going to continue to be completely ineffective under Gary Kubiak. That has been the mantra all week in just about every play or coach interviewed. Ryan Harris knows he has to improve, but its not all bad. Evan Mathis feels the offensive line is close to finding cohesion together. It just comes down to each players individual technique. Still, one can't help but feel they might be a few weeks away from finding a season-long cohesion that will bring some offensive consistency.

Given that fact, and the fact that the Broncos are playing their second straight road game on prime time football, I'm not feeling confident the Orange Crush 2.0 defense can hold the line in this one. I think this will be the only loss the Broncos suffer before their Bye week. If they can win, then I think this team finds itself undefeated at the Bye. So yeah, I'll be rooting for that over what my gut is telling me here.

Prediction: Lions 16, Broncos 10.
