In typical fan fashion, we always overvalue our own players. The Denver Broncos cut 20 players on September 5th and just one of those players were claimed by another team. That player, linebacker Steven Johnson, was picked up by the Tennessee Titans where perhaps another former-Bronco, Wesley Woodyard, put in a good word for him.
Rest easy, Broncos fans, the entire NFL only put claims on 27 players in the hours after the September 6th waiver wire opened. That means several teams did not have a single player another team viewed as worth of claiming for their 53-man roster.
The Broncos have signed several of their cut players to practice squad. Three so far by the time of this posting. Update 9/7/15: The Broncos signed two more of their cut players to finalize their practice squad. The roster is set for now and the remaining players on these lists are not among the final 53+10.
