C.J. Anderson joined Eric Goodman and Zach Fogg on Mile High Sports' Afternoon Drive and talked about grabbing the starting job and Ravens week.
On the Ravens' Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil
"Oh man, they disrupt. They're people you cannot let get going early, like our two guys Von and D-Ware. You just can't let them get going early. It's going to be a big challenge for Ty (Sambrailo). But we'll have his back when it comes to certain things of that nature."
On the season being finally here
"I'm super excited.... I'm glad that we're back. Even this week, it's going to be a long week because it's opening week. But can't wait to go."
On how many people have told him he's their fantasy back
"(Laughing) Multiple. Multiple. All over every social media you can think of. Text messages from my family members. Text messages from my chef."
Can Anderson help with Doom and Suggs?
Anderson has usually held his own in the pass blocking department. PFF grades him as the 14th-best blocking running back in 2014, which is fine for most games. But against Suggs and Doom, that won't matter nearly as much as this question: Can Sambrailo handle Doom and Suggs? A good running game and Peyton Manning being on his quick-release game seem to me to be the best ways to nullify Doom and Suggs. What do you all think?
