Super Bowl 50 is two weeks away, and there will be plenty to wager on during the game. Prop bets will arrive later this week and will cover everything from touchdown passes to National Anthem duration. The first prop bet arrived Tuesday morning when Bovada.lv released the list of odds for Super Bowl 50 MVP.
Quarterbacks top the list, with Cam Newton at 5/7 and Peyton Manning at 11/4. This is not a surprise as quarterbacks have won the MVP award for 27 of the 49 Super Bowls. Quarterback Tom Brady took home the award last season, and quarterbacks have won the award in seven of the last nine Super Bowls.
The most intriguing option for Denver Broncos fans might be Von Miller at 22/1. The Broncos beat the Patriots largely on the back of their defense, and Von Miller was in the spotlight. He set a single game Broncos record with 2.5 sacks and an interception. A Broncos Super Bowl win would likely be led by a strong effort from Miller and the defense.
Peyton Manning could end up with a "career appreciation" MVP award, but 11/4 odds are not exactly great odds to bet on. Owen Daniels is another intriguing option at 66/1. He had two touchdowns a week ago, and seems to be a favorite for Peyton Manning. Of course, Football Outsiders ranks the Panthers No. 1 in defending tight ends.
