No question the most pleasant surprise for the 3-0 Denver Broncos is the play of the offensive line. When you look at years past, even last season, the 2016 unit is so much better.
With four new starters you could see why people had their doubts. Added with the rough first quarter in the third preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams, and some said “here we go again.” But through the first three games, Denver’s line has been pretty good ... and it will only get better as the season progresses. One of the huge reasons for that is the anchor of that unit and one the best centers in the NFL, Matt Paradis.
As I said this week, no doubt the run blocking hasn’t been as good the last two game as the Broncos would like, but with the improved air attack that should loosen up the box in the ground game. Look for the running game to lead the way for Denver on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In lieu of that improved play, Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro from The Afternoon Drive interviewed Broncos guard Max Garcia.
“We know how good we can be,” Garcia told the show.” Whether we’re being praised or criticized, we just tune that stuff out and focus on us.”
