Broncos Chargers participation report: Trevor Siemian very close to returning to action

With Virgil Green and Donald Stephenson back, the big question is whether or not Trevor Siemian will be ready when the Denver Broncos take on the San Diego Chargers.

The Denver Broncos are looking nearly 100% heading into the Thursday Night Football matchup with the San Diego Chargers. The only doubt really is with Trevor Siemian. There were reports he is expected to start, but there is also reports that he will miss at least two games. With him limited again and not getting any of the reps should make us wonder if he is actually starting this week or if we’re just being fed the same mumbo jumbo from the Broncos that we were last week.

The good news is he is getting better each day that passes.

“It feels good,” Siemian said of his shoulder. “I’m getting better every day. I think today and the last couple of days, I’ve kind of made some strides. I’m taking it one day at a time and going from there.”

His status will remain in doubt as his availability is out of his hands. Head Athletic Trainer Steve ‘Greek’ Antonopulos will confer with the coaching staff and make that final decision on Thursday.

“I don’t know,” Siemian said of whether he’ll play Thursday. “I think I’ll just talk to ‘Greek’ and he’ll have a good idea. That’s kind of what I’m doing this whole way through, just following ‘Greek’s’ lead. I’m getting better every day. That’s all I can say.”

With Paxton Lynch crashing and burning this past Sunday under intense pass rush (22 times he was pressured against the Falcons), it would be nice to see if Siemian can calm the offensive waters some with a larger playbook being utilized.

The Chargers are looking like they will have most of their non-participants from Monday back at it today. Only cornerback Brandon Flowers and safety Jahleel Addae were still not able to participate in practice.
