Broncos may have lost their compass

Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro of The Afternoon Drive debated whether Denver has lost its way after the loss to the Chargers.

Have the Denver Broncos lost their way?

That’s the question Les Shapiro posed to co-host Eric Goodman on Friday’s The Afternoon Drive. Shapiro added he wasn’t about to hit the panic button and reminded fans the team went through two two-game losing streaks last season. We all know how the 2015 season ended.

But, as Shapiro asked, has this team lost its way? To say the Broncos offense was ineffective on Thursday against the San Diego Chargers in the 21-13 loss is a severe understatement. If that side of the ball doesn’t contribute, let alone move the ball, it will become a regular occurrence the rest of the season.

The Denver defense has still been good, but not great. That is especially true in the first quarter when it repeatedly puts the offense in an early deficit.

At this point, it’s fair to ask if the Broncos have lost their way. It’s still early in the season and there’s a lot of football left. Still, the Monday Night game against the Houston Texans just got even more intense.

Bonus listen: There is plenty of blame to go around the Denver locker room, Les puts his on the coaching staff.
