Once again the big news from Dove Valley today was the bad news about starting running back C.J. Anderson's knee. On Wednesday people were fearing the worse and those fears came true on Thursday when it was announced that Anderson was having surgery on a torn meniscus in right knee.
Now Anderson is likely heading to the injured reserve and the rest of his 2016 season is now in doubt. This means rookie Devontae Booker is now your starting running back for the defending Super Bowl Champs for the foreseeable future.
Veteran's Aqib Talib(lower back), and Matt Paradis(Hip) continued to sit out practice on Thursday, but Kubiak told reporters after practice he expects both to be on the field for Friday's session.
Starting inside linebacker Brandon Marshall continues to sit out and his availability for this Sunday doesn't look good. He is likely at best a game-time decision for the Broncos. Look for backup Corey Nelson to get reps in his place on Sunday.
Center James Ferentz sat out Wednesday's practice with a non-injury related status but returned fully today. Also, starting nose tackle put in a limited session today after sitting out Wednesday's practice.
Veteran edge rusher DeMarcus Ware continues to work his way back for a broken forearm and could play this weekend, but looks more likely to play the following week. No need to rush him back this week, Both Shane Ray and Shaquil Barrett have played well in his absence.
