Thursday Night Football: Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers

New, comments

The Arizona Cardinals are reeling at 1-3 and now have Carson Palmer out with a concussion. The door is open for the San Francisco 49ers to steal a win at home.

It’s an NFC West showdown on Thursday Night Football. Both the Arizona Cardinals (1-3) and San Francisco 49ers (1-3) have not been very good through the first four weeks. The Cardinals were Super Bowl contenders heading into the season, but appear to be in complete disarray.

Carson Palmer is out with a concussion, which means Drew Stanton will get the start. In six of his eight starts, Stanton could not help the Cardinals past the 20 point mark and has been negative in the turnover differential. This leaves the door wide open for the 49ers to take advantage of an ailing rival.

I think that is exactly what happens here. The better, more talented team doesn’t always win in the NFL.

Prediction: 49ers 24, Cardinals 20
