Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints Injury report: Broncos rule out Wolfe and Talib

In some not so surprising news, the Denver Broncos ruled out cornerback Aqib Talib and defensive end Derek Wolfe for this Sunday's must-win game against the New Orleans Saints.

These two were expected to be out, but they are major losses when you're taking on one of the best offensive teams in the league.

Brees has multiple weapons in the passing game and the loss of Talib will only make it harder to stop these weapons. The loss of Wolfe who is by far the Broncos best defensive lineman will open up running lanes for Mark Ingram and Tim Hightower.

The Broncos will need corners Kayvon Webster and Lorenzo Doss to step up this week for Talib and defensive ends Adam Gotsis and Billy Winn will need to step up to help replace Wolfe. If not, I could see a repeat of Sunday night, especially if the Broncos offense struggles again.

The good news here is that both Wolfe and Talib are on track to return to the field after the Broncos bye week according to Kubiak.

"I would say very much so. Until we get there, but I sure as hell hope so. I think they’re close. I think they’re both close. We’re lucky with Derek and Aqib. It would have been trending in that direction the whole time. Talib has been out there all week. He’s been a part of what we’re doing; just not ready to get turned loose yet. That’s been part of the injection."

The good news for the Broncos is that everyone else on their injury report was listed as full today. That means center Matt Paradis and inside linebacker Brandon Marshall both participated fully in a practice for the first time in a few weeks. Hopefully this means that they're both nearing 100%.
