For the last few weeks the Denver Broncos defense has missed two cogs that make the machine come to life. That machine has done well to overcome their absence. In fact, the defense has made it seem like it hasn’t missed those pieces at all.

Still, there’s no question that Denver’s defense needs the cogs back for that machine to wreak havoc like it can and needs to. Thus, the return of Aqib Talib and Derek Wolfe comes at a crucial moment for the Broncos.

As Adam Malnati and I talked about on this week’s Mile High Report Radio podcast, this game doesn’t get any bigger for Denver. For all intents and purposes, Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs is a playoff game. With the Broncos offense ineffective at best, the defense must have that machine in full destruction mode.

The return of Talib and Wolfe make that more practical.
