Trevor Siemian was a surprise nonparticipant at Denver Broncos practice on Wednesday. According to Mike Klis with 9News, it’s because he has a foot sprain. Klis added that Siemian suffered the injury in overtime against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The extent of the injury isn’t known at this point and we probably won’t learn anything more than that, even when Gary Kubiak talks about the injury after practice. Aside from the severity, the next question is Siemian’s status for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

At the very least, this foot sprain may explain why Siemian struggled in overtime. He was 3-of-8 for 43 yards.

Now comes the fun part with the speculation on if Siemian will start or if Paxton Lynch gets the call. As if the Broncos needed any more distractions at this point in the season with no room for error in the standings.

Also of note, fullback Andy Janovich didn’t practice either. According to Klis, Janovich has a boot on his left foot.
