Good morning, Broncos Country!
Another week and the speculation persists.
Is this the game in which the Denver Broncos finally get consistent offense? Not flashes in the pan that get your hopes up only to let you down when it inevitably craps itself?
At this point in the season, the offense and starting quarterback is that consistent "C" student we all knew in school. They don’t show steady improvement aside from that fluke B+ or A- test. Still, their teacher starts to think, "Maybe they’re finally getting it. They may have finally turned the corner." Only the next test they drop a D-.
To make up for that inevitability, the Broncos need some semblance of a running game today against the Tennessee Titans. There were glimmers against the Jacksonville Jaguars until Kapri Bibbs injured his ankle. Denver needs that on a consistent level today. That will make, barring any setbacks, Trevor Siemian’s job that much easier. Though an injured ankle that could limit his already limited mobility, which means there should still remain doubt despite the rainbows and roses you’ve heard the last few days.
As Adam Malnati and I discussed on the Mile High Radio Podcast, there is optimism new running back Justin Forsett can serve as that spark the offense needs in desperate fashion. The veteran knows the system and has had success with these coaches.
However they get it, the Broncos need the offense to contribute consistently, over the course of a whole game. Is this the week Denver finally gets it?
We’re about to get the answer.
