A story came out of The Denver Post today covering how more than 200 players received custom win and a thank you note from Von Miller. Every player in the AFC West, in fact.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (my personal favorite) was created by Jesse Katz. The label featured orange glasses and a Von Miller signature.

Each bottle of wine came with a special note that read:
It is an honor and a privilege to take the field and compete with you twice a year. We are so fortunate to have this opportunity to fulfill our childhood dreams of playing in the NFL. The blood, sweat, aches and pains, and endless hours spent watching film are a testament to the love and dedication we have for this game. So take a moment, reflect on all your successes, and enjoy your accomplishment. Appreciate those who have helped you get this far, and start working towards your next childhood dream.
Thank you for helping to make our game great!
— Von Miller
Editor’s Note: I love this guy!
As much as we love to hate the other teams in the AFC West, I can appreciate a guy who appreciates the game and those rivalries enough to reflect on it.
“The AFC West has been good to all of us”, said Miller of his decision to gift these bottles to every player in the AFC West. “It’s been a great division in football for the last four years. I was just thinking of things that I can do for those guys on other teams. I have guys on every team. I just organized it and boom, sent everybody on the teams a bottle of wine.”
A bottle of wine a nice gesture. A new car would have been a bit much. Fortunately, Von agreed.
“I thought of all type of stuff,” Miller said of what kind of gift he first thought of. “I thought about cars, a trip to Vegas and vacations (laughs). The wine sounded just about right. I thought about it for a long time. I came to wine and did it.”
If you think this is awesome, you might be able to snag a bottle for yourself. About a 100 remaining bottles are on sale via vonmiller.org for each donation of $500 to Von’s Vision. It’s unlikely any remain, but you never know!
