Don’t be alarmed too much from the rather long participation report today from the Denver Broncos on Wednesday. Seven veterans on the list were all given the day off and did not participate.
Three players, however, have moved into the concussion protocol; A.J. Derby, Virgil Green and T.J. Ward. That will seriously put their game day statuses in doubt.
Brandon Marshall is still battling a hamstring injury, but he appears to be getting closer to coming back.
“He’s still a day-to-day process,” Gary Kubiak said of Marshall’s injury. “He actually came out and ran a little bit yesterday, so we’ve made some strides. It’ll probably be an end of the week decision with him again.”
Meanwhile Derek Wolfe had his oft-injured neck crop back up again last week. It’s looking a little less than optimistic on that front.
“Derek is doing well,” Kubiak said of Wolfe. “I don’t know if he’ll be out here tomorrow or not. We’ll see. I think he has a good chance to get there. We’ll just stay positive and hopefully he can get there.”
For the Kansas City Chiefs, both Tamba Hali and Justin Houston were held out of practice with knee injuries. That will be something to watch closely as the week progresses. These days off are likely just to get their ailing stars some rest between games.
