Despite all three AFC West teams having scares of defeat today, all three won their games. The Denver Broncos still stand two games back from the Oakland Raiders, while the Kansas City Chiefs can take over first place in the division next week with a win over the Raiders.
The victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, put the Broncos right back into the playoff picture as the Miami Dolphins were completely dominated on the road by the Baltimore Ravens to knock them back out of the playoff seeding race.
AFC Playoff Picture - Week 13
- Oakland Raiders (10-2)
- New England Patriots (10-2)
- Baltimore Ravens (7-5)
- Houston Texans (6-6)
- Kansas City Chiefs (9-3)
- Denver Broncos (8-4)
You can now start running some projections on what the Broncos need to do in order to do better than just the sixth seed. It’s not pretty and is going to take wins. Like all of them. Basically, the Broncos would need to win out and the Chiefs would need to beat the Raiders next week and lose to the San Diego Chargers in Week 17. Meanwhile, the Raiders would also need to lose another game.
Likely not happening, but the playoffs are still in play!
