During Monday Nights Super Bowl 50 Opening night media session, Denver Broncos guard Evan Mathis was asked if he had any regrets about how things ended in Philadelphia. The veteran guard said "Look where we're at now. What would I do differently?".
Evan Mathis has no regrets about Chip Kelly releasing him. "Look where we're at now. What would I do differently?" #SuperBowlMediaDay

Mathis was released by former Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Chip Kelly during the past offseason. It was another ugly divorce between a former Eagles player and now former Head Coach Chip Kelly. Mathis joined Lesean McCoy, Desean Jackson, and plenty of other players who were released or traded from the Eagles during Kelly's tenure.
Evan was on the market for a few months before signing a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos in late August. The former Pro Bowl guard struggled a little bit early on but improved a lot throughout the season. Now he is one of the Broncos best blockers.
Now he is the starting left guard for the Denver Broncos who are playing in Super Bowl 50, so why would he have any regrets? Especially after the way things ended for the Eagles.
The Eagles finished the season with a 7-9 record, they couldn't win the awful NFL East division, and Head Coach Chip Kelly was fired with one week left in the season. There was a lot of drama surrounding that team and naturally the season ended badly for them.
Now Chip Kelly is the Head Coach of the San Francisco 49ers and Evan Mathis is playing in the Super Bowl being played in the 49ers Stadium.
In the end, I think things worked out very nicely for Evan Mathis. A Super Bowl ring would only make things even better for Mathis.
