Sounds like Kap will be the Broncos quarterback.

According to NFL Networks Mike Silver, talks between the San Francisco 49ers and the Denver Broncos for quarterback Colin Kaepernick are intensifying as we speak.

After the Broncos lost quarterback Brock Osweiler to the Houston Texans yesterday, the Broncos are targeting Kaepernick as his replacement and future at quarterback.

However, according to reports the Broncos are not the only team after Kaepernick. According to CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco, the Jets and Browns are the two other teams after Kaepernick.

While Silver is who has a ton of connections in the Bay area says talks are intensifying between the Broncos and Niners, Maiocco says the Niners decision makers have not been receiving the compensation they are looking for. So now deal as of now looks close, but it remains a "fluid situation" per Silver.

Kaepernick has been high on General Manager John Elway's radar dating back to 2011. According to NFL Networks Albert Breer, the Broncos did their homework on him in 2011 and some in the building really liked him. Elway is the top dog in that building and if he likes him, he will probably get him.

If the Broncos do indeed trade for Kaepernick, here is the deal they will be picking up.

Here is what Elway had to say about Kaepernick back in September.

"I’ve always liked Colin," said Elway, who went to nine Pro Bowls and won two Super Bowls as a player with the Broncos. "I think he’s very athletic, and he’s a guy that can make a lot of big plays. He’s doing more within the pocket, which I think will continue to help him. He’s a great athlete, and he’s got that big-play ability to avoid things and make things happen."

This situation remains fluid and both sides could agree on something quickly, or trade talks could breakdown. So stay tuned to Mile High Report as we will keep you updated on this situation.
