Report: Jets believe Colin Kaepernick is heading to the Denver Broncos

Sounds like Kap to the Broncos is near.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the New York Jets believe San Fransico 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is heading to the Denver Broncos.

This lines up with NFL Network's Mike Silver who said the Broncos were the favorite for Kaepernick on NFL Network earlier today.

It's unknown what the Broncos would have to give up to acquire Kaepernick, but it is rumored that the 49ers are seeking a 2nd round pick in return. It doesn't sound like the Broncos, Jets, and Browns are willing to give that much up, but one side will have to budge.

It was reported earlier today that talks between the Broncos and 49ers were intensifying, and it sounds like they are closing in on a deal.

John Elway has been a fan of Kaepernick's dating back to 2011 when the team did it's homework on him and came away very impressed(Elway included). So it makes sense that the Broncos are going hard after him.

Here is what Elway had to say about Kaepernick last summer.

"I’ve always liked Colin," said Elway, who went to nine Pro Bowls and won two Super Bowls as a player with the Broncos. "I think he’s very athletic, and he’s a guy that can make a lot of big plays. He’s doing more within the pocket, which I think will continue to help him. He’s a great athlete, and he’s got that big-play ability to avoid things and make things happen."

Here is what Kap will look like in a Broncos uniform.
