Which quarterback should the Denver Broncos target in the 2016 NFL Draft?

With the retirement of Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler jumping ship, the Denver Broncos have a healthy void at the quarterback position. Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro on The Afternoon Drive discussed the possible options for John Elway in the NFL Draft.

The first guy on the docket was Carson Wentz, who is the best quarterback in the NFL Draft. After dismissing the idea of trading up for Wentz due to the cost, they noted that Wentz is far from a guaranteed pick. He looked great against inferior competition, but who knows what he'd look like against true NFL talent.

More likely options would be Paxton Lynch out of Memphis or Connor Cook from Michigan State. Later in the NFL Draft, Dak Prescott would be a very interesting option as well.

However, the fact is that the quarterback position this year is weak. There are no sure things, just a bunch of projects that need to be developed. The best option for John Elway would be to draft a quarterback in the second round or later and see how the draft board sets up in 2017.

Eric and Les talk with Mike Griffith about Connor Cook, who might just be the most intriguing quarterback prospect that the Broncos might look into drafting in late April.
