Brock Osweiler needs Peyton Manning to move on from the Denver Broncos

On Friday, Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro from The Afternoon Drive had a nice chat with our own Kyle Montgomery here at Mile High Report to talk about what Denver Broncos fans are feeling about the Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler saga that is going on right now.

What it comes down to is what will John Elway be willing to pay for Osweiler to be the starting quarterback for the Broncos in 2016 and frankly the answer is not as much as some other team will pay for him in free agency. And that's okay, Broncos Country.

The biggest reports that appear to becoming more true by the minute here is that Manning is not retiring. That doubt surrounding Manning could also be hampering Elway's chances of getting Osweiler to sign a hometown discount. Perhaps the Broncos need Manning to move on soon so they can show Osweiler that if will be "the guy" in Denver, without any doubts.

Which means the time has come for the Broncos to release Peyton Manning. Then, hopefully, the Broncos can steal Osweiler away from entering free agency at a respectably hometown rate.

However, with each passing day that becomes less and less likely to happen before the tampering period begins on Monday, March 7th.

In my opinion, the Broncos have shown enough respect and deference to Manning and it is now time to make a decision and focus on the future of the Denver Broncos.

Bonus Listen

Eric and Les wonder if Osweiler is hoping Manning's gone as much as Manning had hoped Tim Tebow was gone back in 2012. I would have to say yes to that one.
