Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro from The Afternoon Drive spoke with Chad Brown regarding comments made by Aqib Talib regarding Von Miller being at the Denver Broncos voluntary workouts next week.
Brown wasn't very kind to how Talib promised things in that interview, but I personally think more was made of Talib's comments than should have been made.
Of Miller, Talib said, "I think that he's going to be there on the 18th. The last time I talked to him, he was going to be on his way to Denver on the 18th with everybody else."
That sounds like Talib doesn't know if Miller is going to be there next week, but he thinks he'll be there. His comments in this context do seem a bit overblown to me.
Phase One of the Broncos offseason program kicks off on Monday, April 18th and the biggest question surrounding that is whether or not Von Miller will be there. However, the intelligent question is whether or not he should be there.
Currently, Miller is Dancing with the Stars and already franchise tagged by the Broncos. It's a designation that most players find annoying as they await a long-term deal from their team. One might argue that participating even in these voluntary workouts is an unnecessary risk as contract negotiations continue.
In fact, I'm just going to come out and say it. He'd be crazy to show up to these voluntary workouts. Not without that long-term deal in place. My guess is that a long-term deal won't even come close to getting done until the July 15th deadline approaches.

Eric and Les did touch on some interesting comments that Talib made regarding former Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler.
"If you're a backup quarterback, then that's your job title," Talib said. "You back up and when the starter comes back, you back, backup again."
