Should the Broncos trade a defensive player to move up in first round?

It's an interesting question given the Denver Broncos incredible defense. A defense that dragged the worst Super Bowl-winning offense in NFL history to a world title. Not only that, this Broncos defense was the highest rated defense in the Pro Football Focus era. And it wasn't even close.

The Broncos must improve on offense, but that might require moving up in the 2016 NFL Draft. Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro from The Afternoon Drive discuss which defensive players they might trade to push the Broncos up the draft board for a big time talent.

Shapiro's first name was Shane Ray. At first, I felt that was absurd. Upon reflection, it might be the move that makes the most sense. The Broncos already have Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware and Shaq Barrett. The outside rush is a position that the Broncos have an embarrassment of riches.

That isn't to say I would be happy if the Broncos do something this crazy. I wouldn't. In fact, I'd be booing louder than a New York Jets fan on Draft Day.

My favorite scenario for the Broncos in the first round is to see them stand pat at 31 and have a guy like Connor Cook fall right into their laps.

Eric and Les bring on former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kordell Stewart to discuss the Broncos quarterback situation, his favorite CU play and his new book.
