I was really intrigued by the first article in the tracks today on Shaquil Barrett. Here's the deal:
I don't like it.
Sure, every team needs to have role players. Great teams have great teammates. Great teams have guys who stay humble.
But at what point do you want a young guy who shows some serious talent to step up and say, "Hell yes, I want to be a starter!"
Here's my No Bull take: This kid has the goods. He was a Play. Maker. last season. He did everything well at OLB that Phillips asked him to do.
Last year was the year to be humble, put your head down, and let your play do the talking.
You've shown up, son. Time to get hungry. Make Ware settle for being a role player, which you and I know both know is the core plan anyway based off of snaps per game for the OLBs. Make the coaches have no choice but to have you start across from Von Miller as a core part of the Orange Rush defense.
What do you guys think? Do you like the humble attitude Barrett is showing in his interviews? Is that just him being PC in front of the mics? Is his demeanor just respect for the vets still or do you want to see more fire from him?
