Denver Broncos should get four compensatory picks in 2017

New, comments

The Denver Broncos should receive the max number of compensatory picks in 2017 based on projections from Over The Cap.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

While I was looking over the cap situation for the Denver Broncos, I came across a thorough breakdown of every team's projected compensatory picks for 2017 via Over The Cap. The Broncos ended up with the first and fourth highest projected picks from the mega-deals both Brock Osweiler and Malik Jackson received.

The other two should come from Danny Trevathan and Ryan Harris. The total compensatory picks should come to two third-rounders, a fifth-rounder and a seventh-rounder.

Over The Cap uses the same methodology as the blogger who first began accurately projecting the NFL compensatory picks in the late 2000s. It's meant to be a projection, so these are not the actual compensatory picks teams will receive for the 2017 NFL Draft.
