Nominate your fellow Members for the 2015-16 MHR Hall of Fame

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Providing the heart of Mile High Report is our community, and so it is only fitting that members have their own special place in our MHR Hall of Fame.

So without further ado, member nominations for the 2016 Class of the Mile High Report Hall of Fame are now open.

Members who should be considered are those who served as a beacon of the MHR Community and steward of Broncos Country, showing respect to others and demonstrating football acumen or extraordinary commentary that benefited the site as well as Broncos Country.

For the full rundown (including rules) of the Mile High Report Hall of Fame, please see our announcement post last week. Today we are accepting nominations for the Members category. Any currently active or formerly-more-active member of the community is eligible, with a few exceptions:

  • You cannot nominate yourself.
  • Current staff writers/editors are not eligible.
  • Anyone eligible for the Author category is not eligible.
  • Previous winners - ozark orange, j-man, sadaraineshasta77Whorfin and McGeorge - are not allowed to be nominated again...but as with any past winner, congratulations are always in order!

How to nominate

Leave a comment naming the one person you would nominate for this award plus a brief explanation why he/she is deserving.

You can nominate a member in one of three ways:

  • Write, "I nominate [member's name]" in the subject line and then write your reasoning behind it in the body of your comment.
  • Write nomination in the subject line then work on the body of your nomination as a reply to your original comment.
  • Create a Fanpost, which is highly encouraged to get even more eyes behind your reasoning for a candidate and give him or her more visibility and support. Then write a comment to your nomination linking to your Fanpost.

Example nomination:

Comment subject: I nominate Mancar.

Comment body (optional): If ever in need of an appropriate (or occasionally inappropriate) gif, photo or meme, he's ready (especially if it involves trolling Chiefs fans).

How to support a nomination

Support a MHR Hall of Fame nomination by recommending (rec'ing) the comment. You can also reply to a nomination to add more content to a candidate's nomination. These will be compiled and included for the next phase - voting!

To help a candidate become a finalist, it is best not to nominate him/her more than once since it could split the recs. Also, only nominate one person per comment so others can rec one at a time.

How nominees advance

The top 10 candidates with the most recs (minimum 4 recs) will advance to the next phase - fan voting - to begin in July.

As a reminder of the other Hall of Fame nominations, follow these links to nominate early-era Broncosmodern-era Broncos and Sportsperson of the Year.

Good luck to every Member candidate - and thank you for all you do to help keep this site running more than any other entity in our digital Broncos Country!
