Since I was paying too much attention ranting about the Trevor Siemian situation recently I overlooked this Knowshon Moreno tidbit. Apparently Moreno who last played in 2014 wants to make a comeback and would like to play for his former team, the Denver Broncos.
More told TMZ that he still has a lot left in the tank, "probably too much" and he needs to let it out.
As I said prior, Moreno last played in 2014, but his season ended early that season. He played three games and totaled 31 carries before tearing his ACL and missing the rest of that season. Moreno decided to sit out the 2015 NFL season because his knee "wasn't right" according to reports and his future in the NFL looked murky.
It looked like Moreno was all but done in the NFL after a report from 9 NEWS Denver's Mike Klis who said Moreno was mentally "80 percent done" with football. That report looks to be false and Moreno says he would like to play for either the Broncos or Dolphins in 2016.
I can't speak for the Dolphins, but it doesn't look like there is much room on the Broncos roster right now for Moreno. The Broncos matched the Dolphins offer for C.J. Anderson this offseason and now he is being paid like one of the top running backs in the league. The Broncos also re-signed 2015 team-leading rusher Ronnie Hillman and spent a fourth-round pick on Devontae Booker who they apparently had rated as the 2nd back in the entire draft. The Broncos also have Juwan Thompson competing for a roster spot at running back and fullback as well.
So there really isn't room for Moreno unless the Broncos have an injury or two.
What do you think MHR? Should the Broncos consider signing Knowshon Moreno or do you think he is done in the NFL?
Chiefs take a shot at Peyton Manning and the Broncos:
So Friday was apparently National Donut day, and the Broncos rival decided to take a shot at the Broncos and retired quarterback Peyton Manning.
Good job Kansas City! You beat up on a 40-year old and injured quarterback who was already declining.
Apparently the Chiefs forgot how badly Manning whooped on them throughout his Hall Of Fame career. Don't worry, I'll remind you Chief fans who love to lurk MHR.
Outside of the 2015 loss where Manning was far from 100% he has a 12-1 career mark against the Chiefs. That includes Manning dominating the Chiefs throughout his career with the Broncos. But hey, that one victory against a hurt and old Manning must have felt like a Super Bowl win for them. It's not like they know what it feels like to win a Super Bowl anyways. Yeah, they won one 47 years ago, but still. Defeating Manning was pretty big for them(which is kinda sad).
