Report: John Elway personally reached out to Von Miller this past weekend

More good news on the Von Miller front.

Earlier today we had reports stating that the Broncos and Von Miller had "communication" this past weekend. Now ESPN's Adam Schefter expanded on those reports and said that Denver Broncos General Manager John Elway himself reached out to Von Miller.

According to Schefter, the Broncos hoped this conversation would be an "ice breaker" of sorts since the two sides haven't talked since June 7th.

Elway and Miller talked for about 10 to 15 minutes and Elway once again expressed his love for Miller and reiterated that they still want to re-sign the Super Bowl 50 MVP.

"In what the Broncos hoped would be an ice-breaker, Elway and Miller are said to have spent about 10-15 minutes on the phone this past weekend, with Denver's general manager letting his franchise player know that the Broncos still love him and still want to re-sign him, league sources said. Elway told Miller that Denver would reach out to his agents this week in an effort to jumpstart talks and procure a long-term deal, a source said. Until this weekend, the last time the two sides spoke was June 7."

As it was reported earlier, Elway plans to talk to Von Miller's agent later this week in hopes of hammering out a deal.

Last month, Von told Chelsea Handler that "I want to be a Bronco forever. I just want the feeling to be the same from the Broncos.". Well, the Broncos are now expressing that same feeling towards you Von.

The hold up on the deal is the guaranteed money, as always. The two sides already agreed on the total amount of money, and the number of years( a six-year, $114.5MM) but need to hammer out the details before July 15th.

We're a little under 10 days until these two need to agree to something, so there's plenty of time. Just like Demaryius Thomas(and plenty of other Franchise Tagged players) deadlines always spur action and things are finally starting to pick up some steam between the Broncos and Von Miller.

As I(and many of you) keeping saying, Von Miller isn't going anywhere and he will get a new(a very rich) deal from the Broncos.
