Derek Wolfe isn’t listening to the sheep

New, comments

Derek Wolfe had a pretty interesting conversation with Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro on the Afternoon Drive. Did the defense feel the loss of Peyton Manning? What about Malik Jackson? How does he feel about training camp? The usual, but Wolfe never usual.

It is a great soundbite from Wolfe. Broncos Country loves him for a reason, and he is poised to have a great season. Perhaps the most interesting thing he said was that the defense won’t miss anybody. Tough to lose guys in the locker room, but on the field Wolfe exudes confidence.

Wolfe was not afraid to let everyone know that this Broncos team does not care what the critics say. The defense is going to be nasty again. Teams who come up against them will do so at their own peril.

Shapiro compared him to a guy that Broncos fans all know in Rulon Jones. Wolfe has the same kind of mean streak, and plays in a way that is unabashedly violent. The defense around him feeds of his play, and it is obvious what he means to the team.

The hunt for the next one is on. Super Bowls don’t come cheap, and while some guys have moved on to other places, Derek Wolfe and the rest of the defense are going to keep hunting.

Bonus Listen:

Eric and Les took some time to catch up with NFL MVP, Super Bowl MVP, and Denver Broncos legend Terrell Davis.
