As distractions keep popping up, Kubiak and Elway keep playing Whack-A-Mole with them. The biggest thing I heard about from yesterday's practice was Kubiak chewing some tail about the players coming back soft after a day off.
Focus is so key this time of year. New players especially need to understand there are no "days off" now...there are only rest days for your body. Football is a grind. Champions focus better than what the players did yesterday.
One thing that is encouraging to me is to see our coaching staff being more vocal than last year. To be fair, with Manning here, it wasn't as necessary. The team was well organized and took a lot of their leadership from the veteran players. I get the feeling that this year, with youth and a Super Bowl championship, the players are not quite as sharp and they will need the coaches to keep them focused properly.
Before we get to the tracks, I want to congratulate Demaryius Thomas and his family for getting the opportunity to be whole again. I wish them nothing but good blessings and joy moving forward. I hope many more people get to experience such an opportunity of redemption.
