Denver Broncos rookie Connor McGovern replaced Ty Sambrailo at offensive guard this week as Sambrailo suffered an arm injury. Those will be some good reps for McGovern, who is hoping to push for playing time in his first season as professional football player.
Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro from The Afternoon Drive caught up with McGovern to talk about this opportunity to get some first team reps. McGovern feels the game slowing down a bit for him and acknowledged that he tends to revert to things he did in college that doesn't fit at the professional level, so he focuses on what the Broncos coaching staff has taught him so far.
The interview really impressed me. His aptitude for game really came through and he strikes me as a guy who will be a student of the game and a solid professional. Look for him to start sooner rather than later.
